Casss In a Church Window
in Superstition: Folklore from Bay Area Families
My
mothers uncle, J.B., died of shock in 1979, and at his funeral,
his daughter Debbie touched his face and his eyes flew open.
A
week after he had been dead, Debbie and my mother were at a country
church next door in which the spirit of God came through all of
the people. Some of them fell on the floor and spoke in a language
no one understood. My mother and Debbie were scared, so they left
the church and went back to their house next door.
On
the way, they looked back toward the church, and way up in the window
of the church, they both saw J.B., who had been dead for a week.
